When the sun is up, it’s shining. It’s shining even if there are clouds keeping you from being able to see or feel the rays. The sun is even shining when it’s down past the horizon. It’s just that you can’t see it from your vantage point. It quite simply is the nature of the sun to shine. Similarly, God is love. It is God’s nature to love. Even if things look differently from your vantage point, you can be sure the problem is with where you are standing, or with something you’ve put between you and God, but not with God. He cannot help but love you, no matter what.
