Fountain of Youth?
For thousands of years men have been searching for a fountain of youth. Ponce de Leon even searched what later became the state of Florida for the elusive fountain. Today, we look for fountains of youth in newfangled drugs, or steroids, or herbs, or workout regimes, or diets, or… I’m sure you get my point. The truth is that since God removed Adam and Eve’s access to the Tree of Life, man has aged rapidly. We’re aging from the moment we’re conceived, and all of us will face an earthy death unless the Lord returns to stop it. There IS one fountain of youth left however, and anyone who’s ever seen a chronologically old person who truly loves the Lord will know where it is found.
The righteous will flourish like a palm tree, they will grow like a cedar of Lebanon; planted in the house of the Lord, they will flourish in the courts of our God. They will still bear fruit in old age, they will stay fresh and green, proclaiming, ‘”The Lord is upright; he is my Rock, and there is no wickedness in him.” Psalm 92:12-15
