God’s Character?

When people are trying to rationalize their sinful actions they can come up with an amazing array of excuses for what they do. The Bible is chocked full of examples of people rationalizing things like serving other gods, having sex with other people’s mates, stealing, killing, and the list goes on and on. One thing they never really do, however, is simply stop and ask themselves if God Himself would do it. People who want to sin have no end to the angles they’ll work to justify it. On the flip-side, when people of God set aside the Lord in their heart, they’ll find they quickly no longer want to sin. They want to NOT SIN! The fact that Truth is established by God alone drives the only question they ever need to ask. “Lord, does this fit with your character?” Nothing that is contrary to His character will be overlooked by His Spirit who lives in the true Christ follower.  He said to them, “You are the ones who justify yourselves in the eyes of men, but God knows your hearts. What is highly valued among men is detestable in God’s sight.” Jesus of Nazareth (Luke 16:15)  In Christ,
