I was talking with a man today, sharing some “truth” with him when he remarked, “I don’t believe it!” I thought to myself, “Well, it doesn’t matter whether or not you believe it… It’s true!” some folks don’t believe cigarettes will cause lung cancer, some don’t believe drinking effects their ability to drive a car, and some people don’t believe that a loving God would condemn anyone to hell, regardless of what they’ve done. Of course, God will not be mocked. He made us, and he knows what sin has done to us. Basically, He’s thought of everything. In the Old Testament, He provided us a perfect mirror image of our salvation experience (the Israelites being brought out of Egypt). Even though they saw the miracles performed by Moses, many of them still did not believe, turning immediately to a golden calf and other abominations. Truth is truth, whether we believe it or not! Is there any truth you’re refusing to believe?
“Though you already know this, I want to remind you that the Lord delivered his people out of Egypt, but later destroyed those who did not believe.” Jude 5
