In these days of political correctness, do you ever notice yourself tip-toeing around people? I know Christians should do their best to live peaceably with the world around them, but sometimes it’s just not going to matter how hard you try. Did Jesus live peaceably with those around Him? What about John the Baptist or the Apostle Paul? I could probably ask the same question about thousands of other saints, and almost every time the answer would be a resounding NO! Remember friends, we’re fellow heirs with Christ. Frankly, most of the world hates Him and what He stands for. And because of that, it hates His followers. Be gentle and loving, but don’t hide your light or deny your Savior for anybody–hard feelings or not!
“To what can I compare this generation? They are like children sitting in the marketplaces and calling out to others:
‘We played the flute for you, and you did not dance; we sang a dirge, and you did not mourn.’
For John came neither eating not drinking, and they say, ‘He has a demon.’ the Son of Man came eating and drinking, and they say, ‘Hers is a glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and “sinners”‘ But wisdom is proved right by her actions.” Jesus of Nazareth (Matthew 11:16-19)
In Christ,
