The Sermon!

All the great Christian sermons have been recorded.  In almost any pastor’s study, there are books upon books filled with the works of the greatest teachers.  I’ve got lots of books, too, but I could have saved some money!  Now that we’re in the “Internet age”‘ most of them are available with just a few key strokes.  Few people would probably realize, though, that Satan preaches sermons, too.  And just like the great Christian teachers, his have also been recorded in books upon books.  They’re still being written today.  His sermons don’t seem to change much, but it doesn’t seem to matter.  More people follow him than follow Jesus Christ!  If you’re interested, you can usually tell a sermon written by Satan if you look just below the surface of what’s being written or said.  He’ll always have two main points.  The first will be that there is no real consequence to sin.  In fact, he’ll assert that there really isn’t such a thing as sin!  The second main point is always the same, too.  He will proclaim that you don’t need a God–that it’s much more fun to be your own God!  I always remember his sermons like this.  First main point:  Moral relativism!  Second:  Supreme individuality!

Just so you’ll be ready, here’s a small sample of his preaching…

“Now the serpent was more crafty than any of the wild animals the Lord God had made.  He said to the woman, ‘Did God really say, “You must not eat from ANY TREE in the garden”?’  The woman said to the serpent, ‘We may eat from the trees in the garden, but God did say, “You must not eat fruit from the tree that is in the middle of the garden, and you must not touch it, or you will die.”‘  ‘You will not surely die [Main Point 1],’ the serpent said to the woman.  ‘For God knows that when you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God [Main Point 2], knowing good and evil.'”  Genesis 3:1-5
