Have you ever stayed up all night long? I don’t mean on a Friday when you could sleep the next day. I mean something like this: work all day, take a break to eat and do some chores, stay up all night working, then go right at it again the next day. If you’re not in the habit of heading out to work on zero sleep, don’t feel like the lone stranger. I’m sure most of us aren’t. Maybe that’s one reason we just don’t seem to have the power we need in our lives!
Before Jesus began any large undertaking, he often spent the entire night in prayer. Many of us are familiar with the night in the garden before He was crucified. Here’s another time right before He chose the twelve apostles.
“One of those days Jesus went out to a mountainside to pray, and spent the night praying to God.” Luke 6:12
