Does God seem far away from your mind lately? Although the way things “seem” or “feel” are not always reality, your feelings about your relationship with the Lord might just be the Spirit of God speaking to you. If you’ve ever been in a close and growing relationship with Him through His Son, Jesus Christ, then you’ll know how that closeness feels. Anyone who’s suffered for the Lord and has been comforted by His Spirit will also know. Those who now feel removed from the Lord may have had something far too common among Christians happen to them. They may have gotten prideful. Maybe it was because of all their knowledge about the Bible, or maybe it was because of all the blessings they had in their life. At any rate, human pride is a relationship killer with God. Bury the pride and you’ll once again find the Lord is as close as ever.
“Though the Lord is on high, he looks upon the lowly, but the proud he knows from afar.” Psalm 138:6
