King David was an amazing man, and there’s never been a ruler like him since. But David didn’t start out as royalty. He began his days as the runt of his family, tending sheep and spending his days praying and praising God for his lot. God heard David’s prayers, and knew that although he would make mistakes in his life, that his heart was a heart that wanted to know Him. David sought God’s wisdom, and he sought God’s face–nothing else mattered. There are plenty of people who didn’t care for David OR his righteousness, but nobody’s using the purity of their lives as examples today!
If you’re interested in living an amazing life, then you’ve got to start now. Seek God as David did. Spend time searching through the Scriptures and committing them to memory. Forget being great, and just do your best being faithful in whatever God puts in front of you. If you do these simple things, God will never leave you or forsake you. No matter what you wind up doing in this world’s eyes, you will be amazing in God’s eyes! And, frankly, He’s the only one that matters!
“Teach me you way, O Lord, and I will walk in your truth; give me an undivided heart, that I may fear your name.” Psalm 86:11 (From a prayer of David)
