Comfort?

As I’ve read through the Old Testament through the years, I’m always reminded of just how far man can slip away from God, and just how quickly it can happen. We have short memories of the incredible things God has done. Time and time again God’s people turned away from Him and into idol worship of the worst sort. Faithfully, God would discipline His people and then, after they returned to Him, He would comfort them. Just like a father who must discipline a child, His love remains faithful no matter what they’ve done or how far they’ve slipped. Today, no matter how near or far you are from your Creator, He still longs to comfort your weary soul.

“Comfort, comfort my people says your God.”  Isaiah 40:1
