I’ve heard shocking estimates about the hours people spend watching television each week. Believe it or not, some segments of society watch up to 75-80 hours per week; while the average family seems to watch about 40 hours! That’s as much as someone would spend at a full-time job! Which makes me wonder when they have time for sleep? Hey, I like to watch a couple of shows now and then, but frankly, I’ve got better things to do. And you know, of all the programs I’ve ever missed, I guess I never really missed missing them! Television can be a wonderful tool if it’s used correctly, but just like a hammer or a handgun, if it’s used improperly things get broken! For my Christian friends, may I suggest a little less television, and a little more Bible study, prayer, and sharing Christ with friends! Television is a good diversion if you just need a break, but don’t forget we’ve got a mission to do. People are dying without knowing Christ.
“Arise, shine for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord rises upon you. See, darkness covers the earth and thick darkness is over the peoples, but the Lord rises upon you and his glory appears over you.” Isaiah 60:1-2
