Death?

Death is not something I’m looking forward to, but not because I’m afraid of it. I guess I wouldn’t wish to go in a painful way, but leaving this life means joining my Savior in heaven. We all know unless the Lord comes back beforehand, not one of us will escape death. But is death the worse thing that can happen to us? Death has come to the greatest of men, and to the most worthless of men. Death came to Jesus Himself, but it couldn’t hold Him. My point is death is not something to be feared by a Christian. Death will come to each of us at the time of God’s choosing, and then we will enjoy His embrace. Fear God. Fear being separated from God. But do not fear death… Because of Jesus’ work on the cross, death no longer holds any power over us.

“Be faithful, even to the point of death, and I will give you the crown of life.”  Jesus of Nazareth (Revelation 2:10b)
