Don’t Trip ‘Em!

Long before I decided to live for Christ, I first decided to live for myself.  At some level, the decision to live for “self” was prideful arrogance, but at another level it was almost vengeance against Christians.  I had seen too much hypocrisy coming from those I knew who professed Christ as Savior.  I was sick of having fingers pointed in my direction and determined to make them whisper all the more as I lived my life my own way!  Once God caught me, I discovered that those early Christians I knew were what I could also easily become myself if I wasn’t careful–a stumbling block for other unsaved folks.  Of course, the main problems with being a stumbling block are that not only are you keeping people from coming to Christ, but you’re also angering the God who loves them and is calling them!  Does your brand of Christianity, the way you’re living your life before men, make others want to walk toward or away from Jesus?

“We put no stumbling block in anyone’s path, so that our ministry will not be discredited.”   2 Corinthians 6:3
