He’ll Be Faithful

Remember that famous Bible character, Daniel? He’s the one who was thrown in the lion’s den for refusing to pray to anyone but God. Do you remember what got him in all that trouble? Can you recall why were the king’s other administrators and satraps were out to get him? As near as I can tell there were three reasons, all related to each other. 1) He was completely honest in his work (a government job!) and in his personal life, too. 2) His relationship with his maker wasn’t a secret. 3) He prayed near his open window three times a day. Not flaunting it, but not hiding it either. “Now when Daniel learned that the decree had been published, [not to pray to anyone but the king], he went home to his upstairs room where the windows opened toward Jerusalem. Three times a day he got down on his knees and prayed, giving thanks to his God, just as he had done before.” Daniel 6:10 Daniel’s life of prayer didn’t spare him a death sentence, criticism, ridicule, or being thrown in a lion’s den. However, when the time came, God closed the mouths of the lions and saved Daniel’s life. If we are faithful, He will be faithful — Every single time!
