The original sin of Adam and Eve was wanting to be their own Gods. As a result of their sin, we have that same sin in each of us today. We don’t much care for others telling us what to do, and we’ll do what we can to get away from it. As we give our lives to Christ more fully, we’ll start to see a different attitude permeate our souls. As we grow in Christ, many of us will even get to a point where we not only tolerate input from others, but even look forward to it and grow because of it. One of the best windows into of the quality of your relationship with Jesus will be your ability and willingness to lay down your pride and take whatever admonishment you deserve.
“Let a righteous man strike me–it is a kindness; let him rebuke me–it is on my head. My head will not refuse it.” Psalm 141:5
