Everybody seems to be an expert on something these days. I often watch in astonishment as people made famous for acting in movies or television are called to the halls of Congress to testify as “experts” on this or that. I love a good movie as much as the next person, but does being glamorous or pretending you’re somebody else for a camera somehow make you smarter? Sometime ago I watched as CNN had five “spiritual experts” on a broadcast. These “experts” (supposedly on the same subject) could not agree on a single thing! Even the two Christians seemed to disagree with one another. The days are evil my friends, and many claim to have knowledge that’s somehow superior to everyone else’s. Education, all by itself, won’t make anyone smarter. No matter how many letters the “expert” has behind their name. I recommend judging everything that sets itself up as “wisdom” by the Word of God. If it’s in line with what the “known truth” our Creator has passed to us, then I’ll consider it wisdom. Anything else just goes out with the trash.
