YAs crazy as the world is today, I wonder, should we really be surprised? We are obsessed with things that are utterly meaningless. Parents ignore priceless children on their way to material gain. Sex is an obsession–considered a “need” that must be met, when clearly, no one’s ever died from abstinence! Cars, homes, clothes, jewelry, bank accounts–all of them absolutely must be the biggest and the best. “Whatever feels good; do it!” “Whatever makes you happy, man, that’s the answer!” Is it just me, or does all this seem just a little too topical of a fix for what ails our hearts? I chose the word “topical” carefully… topical because we seem to be living from the outside in. We try to fix what’s wrong with our souls with what amounts to nothing more than expensive ointment. The fix we need–what the world needs, is something that will heal us from the inside out! What we really need can’t be bought or sold. The answer to the world’s problems is Jesus Christ!
“For God, who said, ‘Let light shine out of darkness,’ made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ.” 2 Corinthians 4:6
Isn’t it about time we got serious about sharing His love with those who so desperately need it?
