Knowledge Base?

Whether it’s the Jews, people of the Islamic faith, or just your average New Age congregation, nobody could say the majority of followers of these faiths (and a host of others) are not completely sold-out to what they believe.  The problem is not the zeal in which they pursue their faith, it’s the foundation on which they base their knowledge.  As Christians, we break faith with these other religious groups, not because we’re better than them, but because we believe differently.  We wholeheartedly believe that Jesus was the Christ foretold for thousands of years, and that He quite simply, and yet profoundly, is the only salvation from sin.  Others believe they can somehow find favor with God through their own actions.  If that were true, not only would Jesus not be the Christ, but we would have never needed a Savior.  As Christians, the only thing left for us to do is hang tight to our faith in Christ and pray for the people who are caught up in other religions.  We are not members of a hate group because we follow Jesus.  Quite the contrary… we’re members of a “love” group–a group purchased with unconditional love and exhorted to show the same to others.

“Brothers, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for the Israelites is that they may be saved.  For I can testify about them that they are zealous for God, but their zeal is not based on knowledge.  Since they did not know the righteousness that comes from god and sought to establish their own, they did not submit to God’s righteousness.  Christ is the end of the law so that there may be righteousness for everyone who believes.”  Romans 10:1-4
