I’m one of those guys who’s hard to stop once I get my mind set on something. Before I was a Christian, much of what I’d get my mind set on was anything but positive. Still, I would not be swayed to the left or the right once I decided what I was going to do. It seemed only natural… and I guess it was, according to my naturally sinful nature. The Bible says we have to have a similar “hard to sway” type of attitude once we profess to follow Christ. Now, through the grace of God, much of what my mind is set on does come from God, and would honor the Lord. Thanks be to God for His unquenchable Spirit–It’s only Him who can change a heart!
“Those who live according to the sinful nature have their minds set on what that nature desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires.” Romans 8:5
