My People

harvestdayton

In my personal Bible, there’s about 850 pages of Old Testament before the prophet Isaiah comes on the scene. A thorough reading of the books leading up to Isaiah document humankind performing every imaginable evil–some of which our modern day press would find it hard to publish in one of today’s most graphic tabloids. Still, after all they’ve done to reject Him, notice how our heavenly Father addresses the Israelites [and us] in the first line of this awesome foretelling of the coming Christ.

“Comfort, comfort MY PEOPLE, says your God. Speak tenderly to Jerusalem, and proclaim to her that her hard service has been completed, that her sin has been paid for, that she has received from the Lord’s hand double for all her sins.” Isaiah 40:1-2 (Emphasis mine)

If He could forgive their sins my friends, He can forgive ours, too! Place your faith in His Son!

In Christ,
