New Beginnings!

“Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past.   See, I am doing a new thing!”  Isaiah 43:18 Happy New Year!  Many of us are busy making (or breaking) New Years resolutions.   It’s a new year!  I don’t get too fired-up about many celebrations, but I must admit I like New Year’s!  I’m not the kind of guy who makes New Year’s resolutions either, but I like the fact people appear to think differently around the beginning of a new year.  It seems many come to the realization  that what’s behind is unchangeable… and what’s ahead is the only thing that matters!  Finally, a worldly realization that fits perfectly with God’s Word.  Our God is the God of new beginnings.  Like the famed Christian song so aptly illustrates, “He makes His mercies new every morn!”  Definitely do not let me water down any resolutions you’ve made–especially if they involve diving deeper into your relationship with our Creator.  But, if by chance you get off track for a minute (or for a month), just remember… He truly IS a God of new beginnings! He gives us a new start every time we turn toward Him and ask. “Come now, let us reason together, says the Lord.  “Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool.”  Isaiah 1:18 In Christ,
