Sometimes I slip into this zone where I forget that God is active in His creation. I don’t know if it’s the fog of sin, over-activity, or the lack of time spent in His Word or in prayer, but somehow reality starts to fade away. He becomes more distant in my mind. Still a King on an incredible throne, but less involved in the workings of my life. Of course, nothing could be further from the truth. Our heavenly Father never ceases to work in the lives of His children whether we realize it or not–kind of like when I go in and pull the blankets up on my children after they’re asleep for the night. Once I realize my error and start to draw closer to Him again, I start to notice His handiwork. It can be quite overwhelming!
“Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the desert and streams in the wasteland.” Isaiah 44:18-19
