Prove It!

If there’s one thing the average skeptic wants me to do after they hear the gospel, it’s to prove Jesus was who He said He was. “Sure!” I’ll tell them. But first I always ask them to prove to me George Washington walked the Earth. When they tell me it’s common knowledge, I tell them just because lots of people believe something doesn’t mean it’s true. If that was the case, the world would be flat! What makes something believable is evidence. The truth is much more evidence exists as to prove the existence of Jesus Christ than does to prove George Washington was the first President of the United States. Sure, we have written eyewitness testimonies of ole George’s life, and we have His own words too. But we have even more of the same for Jesus. The real kicker isn’t necessarily in that evidence though. What most skeptics find hard to reconcile is the prophecies of Jesus were foretold for thousands of years before His birth. He lived out every single one of them, proving with mathematical exactness He was who He said He was. Jesus also used His own words to prophecy about His own death and resurrection to further prove His deity to His followers. Proof? Proof is easy! What’s hard to break through is the skeptical human heart that’s been blinded by the enemy. Only the Spirit of Almighty God can break through that!

“I am telling you now before it happens, so that when it does happen you will believe that I am He.”  Jesus of Nazareth (John 13:19)
