Revere Him!

heaves open

When I was young, my mother taught me to say thank you when I received something. I’ve taught my children the same thing. Even my littlest ones know exactly what “the magic word” is. In essence, worshiping God is just that–being thankful for what He’s done for us, and telling Him so. Far too often we grow complacent and stale in our faith, forgetting that He chose us and saved us from what we deserved, an eternity in the lake of fire.

“Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God  acceptably with reverence and awe, for our ‘God is a consuming fire.'”  Hebrews 12:28

Heavenly Father, forgive my ungrateful attitude.  I have nothing You haven’t given me.   Even the air I breath was created by You, and is sustained by You–without You, even the dust You formed me from would cease to exist.  Replace in me my heart of stone, Father, and give me a heart of flesh.  Renew the passion I felt when I first learned of Your incredible grace.  Help me to worship You Lord, and to remember it’s You I should desire more than anything.  In Jesus’ name I pray.  Amen

In Christ,
