Set The Example

For those of my subscribers who are parents, or intend to be parents some day, this message is for you.  Have you  ever see your parents say “do this” or “don’t do that” and later caught them breaking their own rules?  Some of you will have never seen it… others with have seen it much too often.  Parents should set the example for their children.  Unfortunately, even in Christian homes, many young people watch their parents say, “Put God first in your life” as they watch them putting God anywhere but first!!  So, wherever your at in the “parenting chain”, remember, your children are much more likely to do what you do, than what you say.  If you want them to have a strong relationship with the Lord, work on yours first!

“Be shepherds of God’s flock that is under your care… not lording it over those entrusted to you, but being examples to the flock.  And when the Chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the crown of glory that will never fade away.”  1 Peter 5:2-4
