If you’ve been given some status in life–if money or prestige has allowed you some sense of self-satisfaction, then you’ll need to be careful. Along with this type of blessing come many dangers. One of the most difficult to deal with is pride. People with money can quickly learn to look down on those with less of it. People who’ve learned manners or who have prestigious education, or even those with “cool” clothes or good jobs often find themselves feeling superior than those who have less. The Scriptures tell us that in Christ we all part of one Body–the Body of Christ. And even those who don’t appear to belong to the Body may well be part of it before we know it. Pride is a dangerous sin–and sin it truly is.
“Did not he who made me in the womb make them? Did not the same one form us both within our mothers?” Job 31:15
