Some people, no matter how hard they look, just cannot see God in anything. Sadly, I suppose that’s true for the vast majority of the world’s population. As the world renowned atheist, Carl Sagan put it, “I’m not saying there is no God. Just that there isn’t any evidence of him.” To me, and probably to any serious Christian, the exact opposite is true. I simply cannot look at anything and not see God. Even when I see hurt, anger, and destruction, if I look hard enough, I can still see God’s hand (or at least His ultimate purposes) at work. If I look at a leaf, I see God. If I look at my children, I see God. If I look at an unsaved person, it’s as if I can actually hear God saying, “Share me!, Share me!” I respectfully submit to Carl Sagan, and any other person who says there’s no evidence of God, “Open your eyes, man! Open your eyes! Back up! You can’t see the forest for the trees!”
“The wrath of God is being reveled from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of men who suppress the truth by their wickedness, since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities–his eternal power and divine nature–have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse.” Romans 1:18-20
