All Have Sinned: Do you believe you have fallen short of God’s perfect plan for your life–that you are a sinner? “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.” Romans 3:23-24 See also: Romans 3:10-12
God Loves Us: Even so, God loves you and sent His Son to die for you while you were still a sinner. “But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8
Forgiveness Through Christ Alone: The only forgiveness for our sins comes through Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God. “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 6:23 See also: Romans 3:22, John 3:16 and 14:6, 1 John 4:10
Turn from sin to Christ. “That if you confess with your mouth ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.” Romans 10:9-10 See also: Acts 3:19
It’s all done with a simple and heartfelt prayer like this:
Heavenly Father, I know I’m a sinner. I’ve done many things in my life that I’m not proud of, falling short of your perfect glory. Lord, as best as I know how, I give my life over to You, right now! I accept the sacrifice of your Son; believing He died for me, was laid in the grave, was resurrected on the third day and is seated with you in heaven. Father, send your Holy Spirit to dwell in my heart and guide me in all your ways. In Jesus’ name I pray.
In Christ,
