Many people tell me they’ve just done too many bad things in their life for God to forgive them. They’ll insist they don’t deserve forgiveness or even have the right to ask for it. Believe it or not, this is not such a bad place to be. The truth is none of us deserve forgiveness and none of us have earned the right to ask for it. Bad deeds or no bad deeds, we’re all sinners–eternally separated from our Creator by the evil in our hearts. But that’s the central message of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Even though we didn’t earn it or deserve it, Jesus died as a substitute for us anyway. The only reasonable response to that kind of love is a turning from sin toward the God who loves you. “Turn away from all your offenses; then sin will not be your downfall. Rid yourselves of all the offenses you have committed, and get a new heart and a new spirit.” Ezekiel 19:30b-31a In Christ, PastorJimKilby @Kilbin8er Jim@JamesKilby.com
