Two By Two?

Have you ever felt all alone in the world? I don’t think there’s a person alive who hasn’t, and it might just happen all the more if you’re strong in your faith. Often the world will shun you because you are a Christian, but that should come as no surprise–Jesus said it would be so. Still, it would do us “lone rangers” good to remember that even Jesus didn’t send His disciples out alone until they were strong in their faith, and even then only for short periods of time. Even the strongest faith can waiver under the relentless pressure of a lost and dying world. Don’t give up meeting together with other believers, remember your time in the Bible and your conversations with God, and by all means, ask the Lord to give you someone who will stand beside you when things get tough. It’s only a matter of time until they do.

“After this the Lord appointed seventy two others and sent them two by two ahead of him to every town and place where he was about to go.  He told them, ‘The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few.  Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.  Go!  I am sending you out like lambs among wolves.”  Luke 10:1-3
