Unconstitutional?

I don’t want anyone to think I’m unpatriotic or anything, but I sometimes wonder how the Constitution of the United States of America became more important than right and wrong.  When I was in the military, I was often required to swear that I would “Defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies…”  Was I really defending a “constitution”?  I thought I was defending my fellow Americans.  Although our Constitution is the highest law in the land, God’s law is the highest law period!  That being said, just because something is legal does not make it moral. We live in a day and age where it is legal to abort another human being.  It is “constitutional,” but it certainly isn’t moral.  Not so long ago, owning slaves was constitutional!  Was that ever moral?  Often in life you’ll be forced to choose between things that are legal and what your God would allow.  As the world becomes more and more liberal socially, what is moral and legal for others will often be immoral and ungodly for you.  Remember, we are called to take the narrow road–not the constitutional road!

“So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets. Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.” Jesus of Nazareth (Matthew 7:12-14)
