Ungrateful?

How grateful would you be if someone bought you a sandwich when you were down on your luck? Would you just say, “thank you,” or would you shake their hand too? What if you were in bad need of a kidney transplant and a total stranger volunteered to donate one for you? Would you cry and hug them like crazy? Maybe you’d send them a card every year or have vacations together, always recognizing you’d be dead without their gift. And what would you do if you realized one day that you were under God’s wrath; born a sinner, and yet offered absolute forgiveness because the very same God sacrificed His Only Son to pay the price for your sins? Would you do like most people and rarely give him a thought-living life in total disregard of Him and His act of love? Would you forget to say “thanks” with every fiber of your being? If you did, you’d either not really understand what you’d been given or you never had it in the first place.
“Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe, for our “God is a consuming fire.” Hebrews 12:28-29
