Is your life geared more toward pleasing yourself, or toward serving others?
The answer to that question will determine how effectively you reach the unchurched–it will also determine how much you look like Christ… or how much you look like the Enemy! Babies are notorious for wanting what they want RIGHT NOW! And so are some of us! How do you think you look to the folks around you? People who are seeking a relationship with God are watching you. They want to know if you care more about them than you do about yourself. Are you leading people toward the Lord… or are you pushing them away?
“What good is it, my brothers, if a man claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save him? Suppose a brother or sister is without clothes and daily food. If one of you says to him, ‘Go, I wish you well; keep warm and well fed,’ but does nothing about his physical needs, what good is it? In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.” James 2:14-17
