Who Says?

“The Lord says: ‘These people come near to me with their mouth and honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. Their worship of me is made up only of rules taught by men.'” Isaiah 29:13

God loves you, and He wants to draw near to you in everything you do. If you truly give your life to Christ, He’ll build your love for Him in return, and He’ll also give you a genuine and unshakable love for others. His Word says so, and He’s proven it again and again in the lives of anyone who’s taken Him serious. That’s the utter simplicity of the good news brought by the Cross of Christ. Unfortunately, men rarely seem to be happy with the simple truth that God loves them. Instead, they continuously seek to hide the evil in their hearts with the rhetoric that comes out of their mouths, and with religious-looking practices. Then, they try to make everyone who doesn’t follow the same practices look less Godly, judging their brothers by false standards. None of it fools God! Either we take the simple road He’s built through the death of His Son, or we’ll labor in vain to reach Him by the ridiculous roads we try to build.

“But I am afraid that just as Eve was deceived by the serpent’s cunning, your minds may somehow be led astray from your sincere and pure devotion to Christ.”  2 Corinthians 11:3
