No matter how hard I try, I sometimes find myself worrying a little about this or that. For a Christian to worry genuinely shows a lack of faith in God–something that surely isn’t supposed to be part of our lives. Still, being “flesh and blood”, it sure is hard to trust everything is going to be just fine when it seems like everything is coming apart at the seams. When worry strikes, however, I’ll always find myself turning back to the sixth chapter of Matthew… God truly IS in control!
“So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly father knows that you need them. But seek FIRST his kingdom and his righteousness and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.” Matthew 6:31-34
