Ever feel out of control–Like something inside of you has it’s hands on the switches that make you go? I suspect that most folks have been driven to that point at one time or another, but unfortunately there are lots of folks who feel out of control almost all of the time. I’d go so far as to say that I felt that way far too often before I gave my life to Christ, and even a few times since! Now, however, it only happens when I’m not really open to His power in my life? That’s right, even Christians can be closed to the healing power of the Holy Spirit if they aren’t careful. That’s one of the reasons why staying plugged in with other believers, and remaining faithful in prayer and in Bible study can be so important to a Christian’s ability to stay faithful to the Lord.
“So I say, live by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the sinful nature. For the sinful nature desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the sinful nature. They are in conflict with each other, so that you do not do what you want.” Galatians 5:16-17
