The opposite of “courage” is “discourage.” One comes from the Spirit of God, and the other from Satan, the great discourager. Ministering to others seems like one of those areas where you’d think God would bring you great courage, and He will, but Satan is also very busy trying to tear down those who minister to others. As you minister to those around you, remember that you wouldn’t be getting attacked at all if you weren’t doing great works for the Lord. Count yourself blessed because you’ve been chosen worthy to suffer for Jesus. And while you’re praising God, remember that the enemy will do whatever he can to discourage and deceive you into believing everything you do is a waste of time. What’s worse, he’ll do everything in his power to make you feel like you are personally unworthy to serve anyone. Take heart and have courage! Jesus knows well how you feel… and He’s chosen you to do His will!
