I hate red traffic lights. Why can’t they just be green the way I’m going? I’m a busy guy and red lights keep me from getting where I want to go. Sometimes they make me late for speaking engagements, ministry events or even more important stuff like picking up my kids from school. There have honestly been entire days where I swear I never hit a green light! Yep, I definitely hate red lights!
But, then again…. if I have a green traffic signal, then the guy on the crossing road definitely needs a red one. If he didn’t stop, he might kill me AND my kids! Now that I think about it, maybe red lights are a good thing. If everyone always had green, nobody could navigate any intersection. Maybe that’s one of the reasons God tells us “no” on occasion. Proceeding the way we’re fired-up about going just might lead to destruction.
