A young friend who receives these daily thoughts asked me a couple of tough questions yesterday. One of them had to do with a friend of hers who’s been trapped in a wheelchair for years. My friend believes this person is a Christian and wondered why God wouldn’t heal her. Evidently there have been many prayers offered up for this crippled woman. These questions are always tough, mostly because we do not have the mind of God. How can we possibly understand all his ways. Still, I did find something in His word that may allude to the answer.
“But how is it to your credit if you receive a beating for doing wrong and endure it? But if you suffer for doing good and you endure it, this is commendable before God. To this you were called, because Christ suffered for you, leaving you an example, that you should follow in his steps.” 1 Peter 2:20-21
