I really blow it from time-to-time. Sometimes I lose my temper and pop-off at my wife, or my children–then I’ll feel bad for hours. Once in a while another driver can really get to me, too! I’ve been known to be mad for 30 minutes about something a complete stranger did. They probably didn’t even know they did it. The interesting thing about the loss of self-control in situations like these is not that it hurts the people around you–it does, but it actually hurts you too! When our heavenly Father commanded us to “love one another” he did it not only for our loved ones and for our testimony about His Son, but out of love for us too! Let me ask you this… How was your prayer life right after the last time YOU really blew it?
“The end of all things is near. Therefore be clear minded and self-controlled so that you can pray. Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins.” 1 Peter 4:7-8
